Electromagnetic articulography (EMA) and Saxophone

Utilizing EMA technique to observe tongue kinematics during saxophone playing. In collaboration with Dr. Dallin Bailey from the Department of Communication Disorders at Auburn University kinematic data was collected and compared for various dynamics, tempi, melodic patterns, and articulation types (staccato, legato, etc.) An attempt to collect and analyze tongue-finger coordination data was also performed. Neuroscience of music and music cognition

The investigation of neuro and cognitive processes associated with music perception and performance. The ultimate goal is to expand the knowledge base in these topics and to enhance clinical applications of music therapy, particularly in restoring normal brain functioning in after stroke and neurodegenerative diseases patients.

Currently developing doctoral dissertation subject.

General theory and methodology of interdisciplinarity

Currently ongoing project with the goal to develop a theory and a set of methodologies to apply interdisciplinary approach in scientific research, problem solving, and creative arts. The theory aims to describe the concept of simultaneously utilizing knowledge from different fields of various degrees of domain proximity.
